Gas Hogs

All fords here ehh? I drive a '98 Mustang GT with a new motor (from an '00 GT with 260 hp) I used to complain about it eating too much gas 15mpg in the city and about 21 on the highway untill I got the new motor which now has 18k miles. Eats the same amount of gas but I dont care. Once I step on the pedal all my worries go away. Gas here in vancouver is $2.23 for premium.

i used to have a 4 cylinder but now 3 of them are dead so im dragging 3 of them and wasting all that gas plus working the engine to hard so i get about 4 miles per gallon and i accelerate at about 0-25 mph in 60 seconds

****, and youse a drug dealer too... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif hahah..

The only way to go is the Ford 4.6 Mustang Cobra motor. They come and came in lincoln Mark VIII's, Cobras, and now the Mercury Marauder. They sound the same as the 2 cam versions, but have 5x the refinement and build ****loads of power past 3000 rpm. Proud former owner of Lincoln Mark VIII that got 33.5 mpg on a trip back and forth from our place to Aroura, IL. Well, most of the time I beat the hell out of it and got 19mpg, but when you let it cruise it would use no gas whatsoever. Now I get anywhere from 18 to 11mpg in the Crown Vic.

I get 12.5-13 in the city and 18-20 on the highway.

What sucks worse is the fact that I have a 4000 lb. vehicle with only 180hp (After modds) and about 220 lb/ft torque.

I have no power or gas milage. Its a crappy little vg33e 3.3 v6. The only benefit is unlike all you domestic boys my car is RELIABLE.

One of the most funny things I have expereinced working at autozone is that gm alt's last about 1.5-2 years. We have even sold replacemtn alts for gm's with less then 1 year of ownership.!!!

I have a ford explorer with about 16 mpg and a girlfriend that lives about 15 miles away. My gas tank drops quick //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My "1.5-2yr" gm alt has been going strong for nearly 5 years.. 70000 miles. I will say that our jimmy's alternator did die after 80000 miles... but who cares it's like 150 bucks for a stock replacement. If you only had to pay 150 bucks in 5 years of owning a vehicle.. (other than tuneups) I'd say you're doing pretty **** good.

I got you all beat, 73 Vette! MPG 6mpg, oh yeah it need 100 octane at least!
we're talking stock cars here. not heavily modified cars. and no stock 1973 corvette, with a 350 engine, guzzled 6 miles a gallon and HAD to run on 100+ octane. not without engine modification.

my 1974 cadillac, the year the biggest, longest, heaviest cadillacs were ever built, has a 474 c.i. engine, and the engine STRUGGLES to get the car moving, and i get 10 MPG.

didn't know it was possible to get an engine to even idle with only one cylinder, let alone drive

My old truck got about 10 on the hwy and 9 in town. The gas guage wasn't reliable and the odometer didn't work right either because the speedo was jacked up. I knew how much I drove every day and how often I had to fill it up. Never managed to run it out of gas but only by the grace of God. Drove it from AL to NM (where it is currently in storage) counting mile markers the whole way.
