HELP! prolly simple!

okay, i got my truck a week or so ago, (87 b2200 2.2) its carbed of course. well anyways, i got to crank it and warm it up, as im not allowed on city streets yet because i dont have insurance or registration for it yet. back to the point, when i turn it over, the idle is like 500 MAYBE 600 rpm. i know this is a little below idle average. but it doesnt even idle, the rpms go up when i crank of course (pumping fuel to carb) and then it dies when i let off. its really pissin me off, its got enuff fuel because it will turn over, and the battery is juiced enuff to turn it over *ignition takes more volts than running right?* HELP PLEASE. do u think it just needs gas and a new battery or something stupid that involves a shit load of money. i may just miata swap it if its that

You may want to have someone look at the carb, It may need adjusting. Also check some minor things like the fuel filter, cap, and rotor.

they replaced fuel pump, filters, all seals, clutch, all hard and soft lines, pretty much everything (timing belt) i dont what it could be, someone told me maybe the alternator.
