Usually, but not always,if your ripping spiders its user error playing below tuning in a ported box.Which is basically free airing the sub and thats not good on the suspension.not to hate on ma but its not hard to rip spiders and make there glue fail.
Its sounds like you were clipping the shit out of them then.I have 2 of the 15" XL models. I had them for 3 months on about 3/4s their rated and one cooked and siezed up on me. ROFL. Other one was still fine. I had to pay 25 bucks to them for shipping, and pay 25 bucks for shipping myself when i shipped it. Cool thing about MA is whenever something craps out they send you a new one, however i wont make a mistake buying their equipment again. I think the other one i have is gonna crap out soon too, coil is rubbing bad when you press on it lightly at an angle. Im gonna sell them off to someone local ASAP and get some other 15s or 12s.
And if you push on the cone at an angle of coarse its gonna rub:crazy:
Oh and about their cust service, dont even bother. If you deal with the same "anaba group" i deal with all youll be able to do is ship it back and get a replacement. It took over 2 months for me to get a replacement amp from them some time ago, i sold that brand new POS the day i recieved it back from them. lol
Without setting your gains with a DMM you would never know what kinda power your were getting.Just because the dial was half way doesn't mean power was half way. This is a common mistake made by people. The gain knob is in direct relation to the output voltage of the deck.ANd with most newer decks they putout 4-8v.If you look at the gain knob all they way to the left has a high number and to the right has a low number. The higher the input voltage the less gain you need.Dont think i clipped them at all, gain was only halfway up on my M500 and im sure it couldve gone up more without distorting, one of them died when my GF turned my vol up to 62, so im sure they clipped then. Seems like theyd take more abuse though, being clipped for 5 secs i figured was no big deal.
