RICHMOND, Ky. — WLKY.com
A central Kentucky beauty queen lost her crown because police said she went on a royal rampage.
A couple of bizarre attacks landed Daniela Gaskie in jail.
Gaskie, 22, was Miss Kentucky Latina until pageant officials learned about her arrest last week.
Police said she stabbed a gas station attendant and beat up a pharmacist in Richmond last week.
Mary Ann McKinney is recovering from cuts and bruises she received in the attack.
McKinney, a pharmacist at M&M Drug, said a she saw a woman was beating on her car. McKinney said she walked outside and the woman started beating her.
"She immediately kicked me with her knee into my abdomen and ripped at me and tore my glasses off and ripped my neck and scratched me and busted my lip, had a knot on my head. She was quite wild," McKinney said.
Police said the woman McKinney wrestled was Gaskie.
Police said Gaskie also stabbed an attendant at the Swifty Gas station across the street from M&M Drug.
Police charged Gaskie with assault, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Her arrest report stated officers detected alcohol on Gaskie, and that she told them she was being profiled for being "Mexican."
The Miss Latina U.S. organization said they want to support her with any difficulties she is facing, but with charges pending, she is not the role model they want.
They stripped her of her title Tuesday.
"She wasn't a very good example of anything that night," McKinney said.
McKinney said she first learned about the title Gaskie held when her friends looked into her car and saw a Miss Kentucky Latina sash.
Calls to Gaskie and her husband were not returned.
The Miss U.S. Latina organization said if they had known Gaskie was married, they would have taken away her crown sooner.
