Gains and filters

When setting gains,should i turn on the filters on my HU?

LPF 80HZ(sub) HPF 80HZ(mids) tweeter will be -4DB (Alpine R Type components)

I understand that loud,bass boost,src lvl,bass,treble should all be at default,but what about those filters?

Also is it ok for me to set gains on 58/62 volume (Pioneer deh p88rs)

I usually set my mids at 100hz. But I'm no expert on gains and so on.

R types are great mids,it would be a shame for them not to play 80hz tones =)
