Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had some opinions on the Fusion Jonah Lomu FJL-1211 subwoofers..Specs say

Power: 650w RMS, 1300w MAX

Voice Coil: Dual 3" black alloy voice coils @ 4 ohms each

Fs: 28.5 Hz

Magnet: 325 oz

Sensitivity (1W/1M): 92.1 dB

Mounting Diameter: 11.22"/285mm

Mounting Depth: 6.49"/165mm

VAS: 2.18 cubic feet/62 liters

Frequency Response: 22Hz - 1.2kHz

QTS: .352

QMS: 3.95

QES: .391

Think it will be a noticeable upgrade over my Type-Rs???

I'm sure they pound but do realize the Jonah Lomu series are from like 2005 so it isn't new by any standard and they don't sell recone kits or anything for them. The subwoofer technology has advanced over the years and to be honest I think the SA is a better choice.

I highly doubt reconing would be an issue when/if it needs to be done. The gap in technology from 2005 til now isn't that big of a deal either.

even though the subs have 3in coils vs the 2.5 the SAs have and they have a higher RMS rating...still the SAs???
Guys around here are biased, so it'll be tough to find someone who recommends Fusion over Sundown. Almost all of us are fans of one particular brand or another.

heres the bottom line.

Fusion is a dying brand. And that is an old sub. However, Fusion HAS made good products.

Sundown is a newER brand, that is proving to be prosperous with a great owner behind it. and they DO make good products.

It's your choice.

I mean I understand that because I also have personally experience with sundown amps and they were the most efficient class D amps Ive ever gotten to touch so far in my audio life and I also believe I will have good results with SA-12s as well...but specs sheet say these fusions will perform well to and I want to know based off specs which would be the better buy....

lol, as long as I dont clip the fusions or treat them bad then I shouldnt have any problems with them right?? Unless there is something out there regarding the build quality of these subs I dont see what the brand name has to do with the product...

Yes they are subs from a non-existing brand but if they perform then thats all i should care about right???

Will powering up an old sub thats never been used be a bad idea???
