how do you run wire two fuses parallel like two 50 amps.also can i wire two diffrent size fuses parallel or do they have to be the same size

i cant find a 100 amp fuse all i can get my hands on is two 50s and a electron said i could run two 50amp fuses parallel to get 100. is this possible

some of the fuse-limited guys will chime in maybe.

What type of fuse? ANL? surely not.

edit. parallel fusing is possible, but 2x50A I don't think is a straight 100A due to tolerances, etc. I could be wrong.

no its not anl,its a pal auto link fuse bent male.and the only (anl) fuses i could find were 175amp and thats to big

You cannot put fuses in parallel.

One will still pop at 50A draw.

but will two let the total of 100A pass??? I have dual fuse setup for my hot tub outside, but it's on a 220 circuit.

Upon further review, and much googling, you can parallel fuses to increase current capacity. However, 2 50A fuses is not equal to a 100A capacity.

You must, however, take into account a derating factor of about 80% - 90%.

This means that if you parallel two 50A fuses, the effective current rating is raised to only ~85A

Two 60A fuses in parallel will do what you're looking for (Effective rating of ~102A)

well after some one saying you can do it i got piss i just said *uck it and went to all the local hardware stores and found a 100 amp fuse i can use. got it all wire up thx you all for you help and as noted i will never use welding wire for big three again to dam stiff

Exactly why I sold mine and got hyperflex. Too **** hard to run welding wire.

im going to invest in some hyperflex after Christmas but this should get the job done.for now
