The only time you would need a fused distro is if you are running a fuse on the main power wire going into the distro that is larger than the rated capacity of the smaller wire coming form the distro. For example you run 1/0 from the battery and fuse with a 250A fuse and your wire from the distro is 4ga which is not rated for 250A and needs to be fused for its rating or less.
