legend:

RED = 4GA POWER WIRE (to sub amp)

BLUE = 8GA POWER WIRE (to speaker amp)

also keep in mind i crossed out the 2nd fuse to show their will be no fused used in that slot

this is an three 4ga in > two 8ga out the right side with the red is the "in" parts

can i do this with a fused distro block? i will have the speaker amp fused, but the sub amp will just be a "run-a-around" situation. of course, the fuse on the amp will be matched up with the fuse by the battery. speaker amp is 25a while sub amp is 60a. i will use an 80a or 100a by the battery.

Yes you can do that, but as you stated the sub amp will not be fused by the block.

Another option would be to get two of those blocks. and then run 1 4awg to the first one, then the dual 8 outs to the sub amp, then a 4 awg wire from the first block to the second, and then run your speaker amp off of one of the 8 outs on it.

There is no reason not to do that. That is the correct distro block for what you are wanting to do. Hell, that's how I have mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The only reason anything needs fused at the distro block is when you are downgrading wire size....hence why the 8ga outputs are fused. Since you have 4ga in, then running 4ga out the side to the sub amp that connection does not need fused since you are not downgrading wire size for that distrobution.

im running 4ga power wire to the trunk and thats connected to my sub amp (bx1000d, which requires 4ga). this amp is 60A.

now i want to add in a speaker amp (requires 8ga power). this amp is 25A.

the fuse by the battery is an ANL 100A. the power wire is approxmiately 16-18 ft long. (but this is BEFORE the distro block)

bikejunkie223, on the pic, the 4ga power wire (red) thats exiting the distro block from the side will be 3-5ft long going to the sub amp.

the 8ga wire (blue) exiting out of the block will be fused with 20A and about 3-5ft long.

reason why i ask about this is because i got this fused block for free along with an amp i bought off ebay. seller added in some extra goodies so i thought id take advantage of it:)
