I was out trying to pick up some used power tools from a pawn shop in my local area. Of course, being a bass-head I went over to the car audio section and I saw a box with two 15" RF HX2's for $999. Yes the were used. I went over to one of the guys who worked there and asked him what model were these HX2. he said he did not know. I then said well there is a difference of 500 watts RMS or 1000 RMS between the two models for the HX2's. He then told me it really did not matter what model the were and that he would get at least $900 all day for those subs. He said plus we have it in a $400 enclosure. In reality the box was prefab and was only 1/2' MDF. yeah thos boxes you see sale for $59. I told him that those subs are not worth that much. I told him they sale on eBay, Craigslist, etc in great condition they will go for $150 up to maybe 250 a piece. The HX2's they had for sell had 3 - 4 places where silicone was put on the surround for punctures. He told me that those silicone repairs ups the value of the subs, because it allows for 1 to 2 inches more of flex (he meant excursion) from the subs. He also told me that box would automatically tune itself for any vehicle it was place in. I tried to keep a straight face the whole time, but could not stop laughing. He turned his back to me and started to walk off...wrong answer my friend. I told him that he better answer all my questions...he replied but you don't even want those subs. His manager made him unscrew one of the subs so I could verify the model number...he was hella pissed because while he was doing it I told him to watch out for that extra flex from those subs...could hit 'em in the face. He kept telling his manager he doesn't even want them. When he was done removing the first sub, I told the manager to have him remove the other to make sure they matched. LMAO...After he was done removing the 2nd sub from the box, I said naaaah on second thought I don't want them.
Side note: the subs were not even wired up to the box. I asked him if they worked and if he had a multi-meter to check the ohms. he said no they did not have one, but all you have to do is touch the neg and pos to your tongue to see if you get a slight shock...like you can do with a AA battery.....They also had a 3000 watt (yeah right) SoundStorm amp for $399. They said they paid $300 for it because they gave the guy who sold it a 10 cents for for each watt so basically 10%... Hahahahah
