could anyone explain why...

i have my sub in the car faced twards the trunk and when i pop the trunk it is like WAY louder then when i have it closed WHY ?

No cancellation. Waves just leave the car. Same thing if you roll a window down, or open a sunroof all the way.

Louder sitting in the car, outside the car, at the trunk, with head inside the port... etc? Im guessing you have a (relatively) small sealed enclosure.

cvr 3^ft@30hz and louder at headrest sub is in back seat with seat down faced away from driver/passenger it is faced twrd taillights when i pop the truck it gets louder at headrest

Move the sub closer to the trunk and close it. See if it's louder with the sub facing the rear of the vehicle as close to the trunk as you can get it.
