so i have my car finished and very happy with it, but now i have an rl-p 12 sitting on a shelf doing nothing. my car is a toyota previa (big socca mom type ride) and my sub amp is an orion2500d) just for fun i want to build another box for when i just want to get stupid (my daily driver box is 2 x prototype soundsplinter 8s sealed) space is almost not an issue, i could probably get 4 x 4 x 4 feet (32 cubic feet?)in there easy. so whats a good box to build just for pure stupid bass factor when i want to go for a cruise with my bros? what dimensions and port area would be good. any ideas....stupid ideas

Well you can't build a large SPL box without knowing what's going in it...

Is it the RL-p? If so 2.5 @ 40hz with 50 square inches of port area on 1000 watts.

You can't just build a retardedly large box and expect SPL to happen.

Trigger-san is right. There isn't anyway to just MAKE SPL, it's a science. What you're asking is like saying that you want to break a land speed record, but you don't need anything to do it.

thanks buddie, thats what ill aim for, mo lesters sticky thread doesnt seem to contain a box 2.5 @ 40hz with 50 sq inch of port? any idea what the dimesions would be for 3/4 mdf?

Remember @ 40hz it's not going to be good for daily driving. You will loose a lot of output in the lower frequency range.

PM with you're vehicle dimmensions.

We can work somthing out.

Make it around 5-6 cubic feet tuned in the mid 30's if you just want something really boomy that goes low.

You'll over-excurse at most frequencies, but it will be impressive at tuning.
