Fully loaded BL10's vs. 15" Type-R's, need opinions!

If all goes as planned, my explorer should be gone this weekend, and when i get back in state after working this summer, i'll most likely be buying an extended cab pickup.

If i do, i would prefer to keep the rear seat, but its not a problem if it must go. I've been pondering the idea of replacing my two 15" type-R's with two Fully loaded 10" Fi BL's. The benefit of this is i think i can get about 1-1.5cu ft per sub if i build a box underneath the rear seats, which follows fi's ported box specs. Im not sure how these will compare to the output on the 15" Type-R's though.

Opinions please!

oh, and this will most likely be off of a kicker ZX2500.1 or similar amp, running off 2 ohms.

if the installs are the same quality wise...same power blah blah blah, i think your gonna get quite a noticible drop in output going down 2 sizes. sure you can build box after box and get louder and louder, but most people like to just drop a good built box in there and be done with it. imo its down to whether your willing to sacrifice room for output or output for room. this is of course a generalization but same quality installs its gonna be hard for 2 10's to keep up with 2 15's (oh and im assuming these are the 05's ?)

my current setup was off of a XX-hercules at about 1800watts.

the new setup i would like to be a ZX2500.1 (or a similar powered amp) on two 10's.

I guess my real question is, do you think i will be losing output? Im supplying more power to subs rated for more power, but the R's can take a beating and of course are much larger

bump!

Will this at least be reasonably close? maybe i'll just give it a try anyways. I really wanna keep that rear seat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

maybe i'll just bit the bullet and go two fully loaded 10" BTL's on a memphis 4k

Yes, you are upgrading to a higher quality sub, but your surface area is greatly reduced.

It is like saying if you went from a Camaro SS (Alpine type R) to a porsche boxter (FI BL). yeah, the boxter is higher quality, but it still can't hang with 1.5 times the power of the Camaro. Make sense? Whether it is cars or subs, the old saying, "there is no replacement for displacement" often holds true.
