If you want to get loud...Loudest I have found is upfire with the ports towards the side...

Most ex cab guys fire ports towards the drivers side...regular cab towards the passenger.

in my ram quad cab i did subs firing forward/up at an angle and ports firing straight forward. with a pair of treo ss 15s and a memphis mclass1000d, i did a best of 145.5 outlaw on the termlab. frequency was 52hz, IIRC. that was one insane little setup, lol....

the boxes were a pain in the ***, never finished them, but they worked for those subs, lol.

45 is plenty loud for a daily beater.

Sat in a truck that does a 156 on music. To loud for daily

RE always recommended 4, but I know they seemed to tend to recommend a bit on the small side. I figured 5 cubes would be safe. I'll build a test box first to see what it sounds like.

I just rebuild the center console and Im putting one HD3 into it and before I had a dmx 12 and it was loud as **** and the box was tuned to 40hz

yep, that's all, lol. i mean, stock electrical and battery, 1100wrms and 2.5ft^3 enclosures tuned at 34hz. wasn't really a spl setup, ya know? but i liked it.

as too the rear firing enclosures in an xcab. i did that lastly with my s18x. i built a false floor and rear wall, sub up, ports back and gained a bunch. especially on the lowend. never got it metered, but it was most definitely louder. i think i have pics of that somewhere as well.

Hmmm rear-fire. That would pose some problems, particularly leaving enough room for the ports to 'breath'... probably. I need to get my back seat out and do some real measurements. But... argh... trying to change my timing chain on the truck right now... freakin pita.
