Yes and no...I would personally trust them though because I've never been disappointed with ed equipment. Used a nine.1 (not mine personally, but a friend) and have heard two generations of K's as well as the A series, have been pleased with all of them.

ive heard terrible about service, but nothing but praise on performance. makes me think people just dont read the guidelines/are impatient.

Well the problem with eD is that they often do preorders and then keep pushing back the release date further and further due to problems. Other than that aspect they really don't have bad service, just make sure that you order things that are in stock.
