Fuel tank between trunk and cabin, best way for more bass?

my car has the fuel tank betwen the trunk and the cabin so obviously i dont have the volume most people get.

would it be better to add more power to the subs i have or add more subs, or add more subs and more power?

i have 2 12" pioneers right now, i like them, they sound good and seem to be built well. maybe i'll add more subs...

take the tank out
lol, i've already thought of that. i could removed the factory tank, and put in a fuel cell...

the rear deck had a factory sub, which i removed, so now there's a hole there to vent some sound through, but still...

oh, it's a Lexus LS400.

remove the factory sub and the opening will act as a port to the cabin, if you are ambitious enough, build a box that will give the effect of a bandpass, or port a box directly to the factory sub location.

i believe he has already taken out the factory sub so there is a vent and if I remember the lexus there is like no room to build a large enclosure for this. I did a Jag xk8 with a similar trunk set up. We took out the back window and glassed enclosures for kicker comp 6x9 subs in the factory locations and it didnt sound too bad. Im sure with some modification you may be able to fit 8s but Im still not sure if that will provide you with the output you desire. Your best be would be to prolly cut additional holes in the rear deck if you are up to it. Just be careful not to ruin the structural integrity of the rear deck.

yes, the factory sub is already gone. i have 2 new holes cut for more air but it's not enough still! i guess what i really need to know is; do i need more subs or more power to get the output where i want it?

You could always get Marine subs and mount them in the tank as the enclousure...I'm not sure how'd they sound when the tank was full....though ......but heck it would be a cool experiment...to test the bass quality at different levels of gas in the tank //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You just need a good qualty DD 10...say a 35 series dual 2 and put it on a good qualty amp that does a min of 1700 rms at 1 ohm...true power not make believe power...put it in a medium size ported enclousure...2 cu ft total....and you'll PWN four pioneer 12's in sealed boxes any day..... It will be all the bass you'd ever want //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
