whats with the high volt preouts? whats the diff in a deh4000 as far as the preouts. i know i have only i think 3 but whats up with the high volt junk?

You don't have to crank your amp gains as high or something to that effect.

From my experience, the higher the pre-out voltage the better SQ you get, all other things equal.

But some companies like Kenwood decided to market around that "metric" and put out a bunch of crappy head units with 8-volt pre-outs.

So it doesn't always guarantee SQ...but is is definitely good to have a higher pre-out voltage.
