Everything works great, 100%.

Slight scratch on the knob and side but otherwise in perfect condition. [will post more closeups]

Does have the cursed pioneer "alternator whine" due to the internal ground on the RCA's but it can easily be fixed by grounding the RCA yourself, which I did. AKA FIXED the ALT WHINE.

Pics will be added later tommorrow [its 4am], as well as a youtube video showing that it works.

Premier version of my deck, VERY nice, and great price too. The only thing i'd take over this deck would be a flip-out/touchscreen or a deh-7900 (color screen version of this pretty much)

nope, dont have an ipod myself, so I dont have the ipod adaptor.

ok thats cool, and um does this HU have an AUX Input?

and got a pic of how you grounded this HU? where did you ground it exactly? did it get rid of the alt. whine?

Yeah, it has a aux imput on the bottom of the faceplate. You can see it a bit in the 2nd pic down in the thread right below the "SAT radio" logo on the bottom of the faceplate.

You can just ground them out by putting a bead of solder around the rca's on the back of the hu so they touch the hu 'chassis'.

how about screwing the ground on any metal inside the dash?

BTW that aux is on the bottom side correct? Will I be able to plug the pack in there if I have a preamp controls below this HU?

Na, grounding to the hu chassis will usually be sufficient

Yeah, and if I can remember correctly (been awhile since I used the aux in), it tilts the faceplate out 45* so you can still use it, but aims the jack outward. Dunno though, if not, you may just need to add a spacer, or flip the stereo/eq so the eq's above the deck instead of below

yeah that is what I was thinking, just have the EQ on the top and HU on the bottom..

I guess I ll just ground it to the HU chassis when i got a soldering tool.. But got any pic of this method if anyones done this before?

I ll take this HU in a day or two if still available..

The way the first post is worded is weird, but the way I take it is:

The HU had alt wine problems

he grounded/fixed it

I just grounded it with some wires around the RCA connectors.

Worked great.

Its the internal [inside] RCA fuse [its tiny] that goes out [pioneer built it cheaply i guess] and the RCA's are no longer grounded; thus the whine. but we ppl fixed it by externally grounding the RCA's
