Both work overall, but both have issues, thus the pricing.
AVH - The whole right side of the touch screen does not function properly, it needs a new membrane obviously, but if you use a remote everything functions fine (remote not included you'll have to find one...I'll try and find one in the mean time). DVDs will still play. The screen goes in and out perfectly, no issues with this deck other than the touch screen portion.
DEH - high output speaker leads (amp) are blown. low level (RCAs) still work, so this will work well for someone who has an amp running all their speakers.
