it is removable.....after its in the flipped down position(as pictured)....hold it firmly, and slide it ti the left, and pull it off...! free bump for the OP!

Unless I missed something inthe manual (I was checking that myself), this HU doesn't have built in crossovers -- but it seems to have just about anything else that you could wand in a single DIN HU!

not with just this unit, but if you add the alpine h701, you will have endless active capabilities. more then anyone could ever ask for.
