Frustrated!!!!

no doubt the ss's have a better tone and i really like that ALOT but i need to be able to have something that can, at the very least, blend with my components. The ss's couldn't even get that loud. I agree that i got a bad set but i am moving to another part of california next week and won't be able to recieve mail for the next 2 months anyway.

I have been adjusting the cvr's everyday with the eql and they are actually starting to sound pretty nice. I just sit in the truck and play my favoite cd's and make minor adjustments across the board.

i got a chance to read all of the posts on SSA as well. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3533

Too bad the topic is shut down.

"""same amp same box significantly better??? im sure if you put almost any 10 incher in the same box with the same amp theyre gonna sound similar? ,within reason.new amp new box maybe is what this guy wants?""""

with the airspace and power requirements the same, the rl=i should SHINE over that cvr. it doesn't. The amp is a phoenix gold 600.2ti that i have used on several setups. I know its got nothing to do with it and the box was built by mr marv who is known everywhere for quality boxes. WHY DOES THE CVR TOTALLY PWN THE RL-I?????

I had a bigger box for those subs but they were boomy and although they were louder, having a box with the right airspace was supposed to fix this. i also tried the sub on two different setups, one being ported and it was still horrible.

either way, its been established that the subs were defective.

thanks for playing.

You just answered that question yourself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That guy did not work for SoundSplinter he worked for the SoundSplinter buildhouse. Mike said they were defective and that guy was giving you the run around and that he(the guy at the buildhouse) just did not want to have to fix them. Atleast take Mike up on his offer of trying out a new GOOD pair. Hell as good as Mike's customer service is he might bring them to you in person, since you are moving.

if i would have dealt with that guy, with all respect, i still would have beat the shit out of him. I mean because Mike is a good guy and he told him that he was going to get him a new pair. But yet the guy is acting as if he was tryin to scam him or something. Thats BS especially for an hour drive.

Guys, come on - this thread is getting a little convoluted. There was admittedly miscommunication at the buildhouse and Kurt didn't choose to leave the woofers there. I should have made it clearer ahead of time that he should leave the woofers there regardless of what they told him about their performance, but alas hindsight is always 20/20 (unless you've had too many beers!)

Honestly though, I think this thread has served its purpose and we are beating a dead horse. The buyer received woofers with a flawed construction and was thus unable to use them to their potential. He tried to return them directly to the buildhouse in order to avoid having to ship them, but due to the quick defence of one of the engineers there he apparently thought that the woofers were not going to be accepted as a return. While I use services from the buildhouse, in no way are they responsible for determining how I operate SoundSplinter and likewise in no way do I control how they conduct their business.

Kurt still has the option to get a brand new pair under warranty, as well as two other offers I made in private in case he didn't wish to stick with the RL-i's.

End o' story

Wow, i just found this thread and i am going through the same thing with my RL-P, meaning it pops and clips when i try to turn it up.
I would suggest u speak with Mike and the same goes for anyone other person who thinks they have problem with Sound Splinter products. Speak with Mike first before you post any negative comments about the products.

Im not saying anything negative about the sub, and i already spoke to Mike, but i have a strong feeling I am gonna do exactly what this guy did with changing to a ported box and still having the same problem. Is there any way to tell if the sub is defective or not? I already checked it with a vmeter and its measuring around 1.3-1.5 ohms. The sub sounds very very good, but whenever i try to make it loud it bottoms out, and i dunno why. I can understand that since I have a small sealed enclosure that would cause it to not reach maximum output, but i cannot understand why it would cause the sub to over exert itself and bottom out without even getting too loud.

NO really? I didn't realize that by all those kajillion threads you made about your USED sub...
ITS A BRAND NEW SUB. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Where are you getting that its used!!!

Adding on the last post, Im not trying to be a dick and say to stfu im just saying for the people that HAVENT spoken with Mike, do so first before spreading negative comments about the company. Im 110% Mike will be willing to help and give you great customer service.
