Mike at soundsplinter says the RL-P in enginneered to be more of an SQ woofer then an SPL woofer. The MTX on the otherhand is engineered for more SPL and all out abuse.

They both are great sounding woofers though and will both exceed most peoples tolerance for high volume.

Edit- Im wrong, mike was referring to the RL-i series.

Just get whatever has the best price.

It's suposed to be an SQL sub which means it can maintain respectable sound quality at high volumes, or get loud and sound good if you will.

The 9500 is a mammoth subwoofer; expect more violent shaking from it.

The RL-p sounds great, and plays low; can't handle as much power though.

If you want to feel it, go for the 9500.

If you want to hear it, go for the RL-p.

i love my 9500 and i think it has great sound quality but i havent heard the sound splinter and i dont think these other people have either so i cant tell you which one to get i can just tell you my opinion. you will be under powering the 9500 though since there is no dual 2 model.

Yeah, Nine.1's are sick freakin amps. They are selling them for 300 bucks shipped right now, 900 watts at 2 ohms, 1200 at 1 ohm. yea i have a friend tht runs one on a XXX. I use a 1501d on my mtx 9512 (hence the avatar)
