Frustrated just does not even start to cover it...

There are multiple ways your system can get noise. I haven't found many amplifiers that are noisy no matter what.
I hear you, but with my cheap Soundstream amp installed there is no noise at all. The SS puts out about 50w/channel RMS and I think the AB puts out a bit more(4ohm). I have the gain turned way down on the AB though so it can't be putting out much power at all, the higher I turn the gain the louder the noise gets. The noise is not as bad as it was with the first AB I installed and it does not sound like alt whine this time, at least I don't think the sound changes with the engine revving higher like it did last time. I admit that is hard to say for sure because my exhaust is so loud, but it was easy to tell last time. Its a constant high pitched sound.

I had this problem with a Massive Audio NX4. It's very annoying. Is this shop an AB dealer?
No, that's part of the problem. I bought it from Mylows10, so they really have no motivation to check further than the amp. I probably should have just paid the extra and bought the JL HD 6004 from them which is what I really want, but it's just so much dang money for an amp. For amps they really push JL, so its either JL or crap amps that they carry.

If its gonna happen with the VFL, its gonna happen with the JL. Upgrade your RCA ground, ALONG with regrounding your head unit. You can also try a ground loop isolator or using a capacitor inline with the 4 channel to get rid of noise.

Tired of people blaming noise on pioneer when its always something else in the system they could have just done a simple fix of.

He tried a different amplifier. See post #16 .

Not saying your wrong about not being the HU, but if it will happen with the JL then why doesn't it happen with the Soundstream? With the first AB was installed and it had the alt noise we did everything to try to stop the noise. Tried different RCA's, grounded and regrounded the amp several different times, ran the RCA's in different spots, tried a ground loop filter, etc. We spent hours trying to isolate the noise. Switched the Soundstream amp back in and it was gone. So now that that worked last time, and the manager being a total jerk, I don't see them trying anything again since the amp was not purchased from them.

With all due respect, and it does take a lot to get into this business, **** that shop man. No one should have to buy anything that isn't what they want or can afford, just to get a shop to install it. My local shops at least will install any amp the right way and test things out. One of them really pushes MMATS on me though, and it really pisses me off. I don't want MMATS. Not that they aren't good, just isn't what I want. They like Memphis too, and when they saw my Hifonics, the guy metering me kinda turned his nose up at it. Got surprised when he heard it though. Single sealed 12, and it didn't drop below a 130 sealed on the windshield until above 65 hz. Shove that up your ***, shop.

Might be the amp then, If you have a buddy with a system or take out the amp and let the shop bench test it and if its bad, Have mylows10 RMA a new one for you.
Shop probably won't test it, and if they do they're gonna find anything they can wrong with it.

Is it bad to find legit documented flaws with the amps so that OP can get an RMA from american bass? Most legit shops have a bench to test equipment.
I'm not against someone testing things on a bench. From what he's said about his local shop, they already have there brains set on the fact that the amp is the problem, and that the only good amp is a JL Audio amp. They won't check other things.

The problem is the HU is only a couple of months old, and they are the ones that installed it. The problem is finding a way to get them to admit that is the issue(if it is) and replacing it. That is my reasoning for thinking about getting the new amp from them, then if there was still noise you would think they would swap the HU. However I could also just end up getting screwed by them even if I do.
Take a friends amp with you and put it in at their shop to show the noise isnt the amp. Or a rca to mini cord. Run that from ur phone to ur amp. And see if you have noise then. If ur local come see me or we can go together. If any other help call ms tomorrow PM for number

Youre correct I had oje car I couldnt shake the noise for some reason. Added my first ever second battery and noise went away. I think he needs to clean up his amp ground again and make sure rcas are not ran with power wire/ different side of car and then test the amp using his phone. That will tell you right away if its the radio. But given its a newer ab it may be the amp. But I definitely woukdnt pay that for a jl
