Friend needs a system

ok my friend just got a car and wants to a system.

he really likes my deh-p860mp deck so he might get it.

as for the speakers, he wants to replace all OEM 4 speakers and 2 tweeters and replace them maybe with comps up front and co-axials rear. and wants to power them with a 4-channel amp.

Sub: wants just a basic setup, two 12" subs and a amp.

budget: for just the speakers around $250-350

amps $400-500

subs $300-400

in LA

and all his speakers are 6-1/2"

tell hime to invest all the money in speakers into a single set of components and forget rearfill. ever consider a single sub? you can get a decent 12 or something and port it, with like a viper d1200.1 or directed 1500D on it, and it will be louder then a lot of dual sub setups. what is he after spl or sq?

thats definatly enough for a bangin system.

I believe 2 12 Type R 05 model will be below 250 so that could be a good setup.

For the sub amp, pretty much a 1200.1 amp will do. KX1200.1, Orion 1200D, etc.

go with a single 15" rl-p ported with a directed 1500D. get a set of 6.5 comps up front and a 2-channel amp like an ed 9.2 and your all set.
