free coin laundry

my apartment just raised the prices on their coin operated washers/driers.

i was wondering if there was any way to trick these machines?

they're the ones with multiple slots, the coins stand on their edge, and then you slide it in.

Most apartment complexs dont allow you to have your own washer or dryer.

i wouldn't really want anything that actually goes into the machine (so that someone would know it was being cheated).

true. slugs are just round circles stamped out of metal in the exact size of a coin.

good for coke machines

i forget where it was..but a long time ago i saw someone somehow secure a string or something to a coin..put it in the machine, it would trigger the mechanism to simulate the proper coin going in..then pull the sting to pull the coin out

i'm an assistant manager at an apartment building and the laundry company raised our washers to 1.50 instead of 1.00 and did no improvements at all to the laundry room. as i don't agree with ripping off the laundry company, i know that putting panty hose over the slots and sticking the quarters in works. make sure you let them have some money though. at least only do that every other load.

i've heard of people tying (sp?) fishing line around coins so they can pull them out after they put em in a machine. i've never seen it done so i have no clue if it works or not.

works on pop machines (older ones). not on coin op. washers with the slide in coin slot.

mine just went from 0.75 to 1.25 (which is still less than many places around here).

i would at least let them have some $ though. don't take it overboard and rip them off completely. maybe let them have the original 75 cents. the only time i do this is when i really need to and am hurting for funds. if i have money, i just do it honest.
