Four Post Battery

I just bought a Yellow Top and I'll be putting it in tomorrow (weather permitting)

I asked the guy in the store this, but he didn't seem too sure:

My truck uses side mount. Is there any reason not to hook things to the top posts as well as the side? I just don't want to crowd the side terminals because my battery is in an odd spot to reach the side terms. So when I put my 1/0 alt wire and my 1/0 to the rear, along with the two stock connections, it's kind of crowded. Also, I would run my 1/0 ground from the top post.

I don't see how this would hurt anything. Just wanted to get a professional opinion before I do it.

Thanks.

I'm fairly sure everything is hooked up inside, so u should be good to go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thanks!

Unfortunately I already had to mutilate the rubber boots on the factory wiring to be able to fit the new ring terminals. But at least I won't have to squeeze my hands in there or remove my air filter box just to mess with the battery anymore. Plus it seems like a much better way to jump the battery, if need be.

Okay... now I need to go try to beat the rain.

Unfortunately none of my ring terminals will fit on the top posts... I can't ream them out because the posts are as thick as the terminals. Oh, well. I just put it all on the sides. I noticed in the documentation that it said to put all high amperage equipment on the top posts. I don't guess I need to worry about that with what I'm running now. I'll just need to get some bigger terminals later on.

its cool

I got some from O'reilly Auto. Not Stinger, but good ones. Very handy. I'm thinking I'm going to change my stock terminals on my truck to top mount, though and side mount all my other stuff. Although if I remember, the manual that came with the battery said to use TOP POSTS for all high amp applications. Don't know if there is a good reason for that. Or if they just meant winches and stuff...
