four 12s or two 15s

2 15's = 30INCHS of speaker4 12's = 48inches of speaker

It mostly depends on the box ....but mostly 4 12s would be louder...

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif Oh my goodness. here we go with the mathematics!!!!

It may depend on the install, 2 15"s might not require as much air space inside the box which is good in your case.
i had 2 15"s Audioque HD3's walled in my truck, and i stomped alllll overr 4 12"s JBL GTi's walled in another truck

but i guarantee you that if i had 4 12"s, i would be louder than him if he had 2 15"s, a good design and well built box is key.
spoken like a genius. The key is not how many subs you have, its all about design and correct airspace. I have 1 18" which is know for mainly SQ but I can go toe-to-toe with people with 4 15s out here because their box and setup in general is build like crap. i think you should go with two 15s, make a really good box for em firing into the cabin and seal off the trunk and you should be golden.

did you drop out of school in 4th grade? if not, you should know better.

that is NOT how you calculate "INCHS OF SPEAKER". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

lol one 12 is 113 sq inches actually.. and one 15 is 176.. the four twelves would be louder with correct enclosure.. Stop being an ignorant mofo and listen to what some of these people are telling you. its not all about how many subs you have.. ive seen a idiot with 12 sony explode 15's think he was hot shit and told me that he would out do me any day and I only had one 15... when it came time for TL i was doing 148's while he was doing 146's

I doubt the proper answer is just going to be handed to you. It's all opinion.

Either way you go, make sure to have a well built/designed box. A buddy of mine had 4 L7 15's crammed into the trunk of an accord, it sounded like A$$. Was a terrible 1st impression of the speaker for me.

Get some solid subs (decent will work) and put them in an awesome install. If you don't worry about all the small details, it really doesn't matter how many subs you have. My 2 cents.

Two 15" = 353.43 Cone Area

Four 12" = 452.39 Cone Area

How to calculate cone area

Cone area = pi x (r x r)

pi = 3.14 r = radius of sub
