I have been involved in car audio for 15 years I started out with JL Audio products then experimented with various other mainstream brands and then onto online brands that are promoted and hyped online as being the greatest.

Now I am back to using the best which is JL Audio, I have had the luxury of using every model sub that JL Audio has produced and for my preference the w6v2 series just does everything right it sounds the best in all the genres of musisc I listen to,it works in just about any enclosure size you put it in and it gets loud enough for any sane person out there...this is simply the best sounding sub out there In my opinion.

I want to send out warning to people shopping for subwoofer's or any car audio product for that matter and especialy to those doing research online in the forums.

The car audio forums online are rigged to sell and promote the smaller internet brands you will often see products from smaller internet brands compared to JL audio and more often than not they will say the smaller brands are better than JL...this is not true you have to understand on the online forums some of the member's are actualy affiliated with the online stores and online companies in disguise as regular forum member's...even some of the forum moderator's of these forums are in the middle of this...also the smaller companies will recruit regular forum members and give them a discount or free products to spread the good word and hype the products...then when this happens alot of newbies looking to get into car audio get into the middle of this hype and buy into these products then the band wagon starts...then they make it appear like everyone is using the smaller brands when in reality they are such a small spectrum of the car audio scene...don't get trapped in this like I did...you will spend alot time and money experimenting and it's not worth it...it's all hype stick with JL Audio and you know you are getting the good stuff.

Some of the brands to look out for that are overrated are Image Dynamic's (even though recently thay have been exposed as being junk),SSA (today's most hyped online product),CDT (recently exposed also as overrated) etc... you will see these products and other's that get pumped up as being the best and this is because these companies offer the highest profit margins for the online retailer's...keep this in mind...JL products do not offer the online retailer's much of a profit because the online retailer's have to pick the JL products up as a third party so the profit margins are split...this is one reason why JL does not get hyped online.

Some of you are probably thinking I work for JL I will tell you this is not true Like I said earlier I have been into car audio for 15 years and been involved in the online car audio scene for many years I have seen it all...I have been asked to be one of the forum member's to hype products for a very popular online car audio store that starts with a W the deal was I was since I was such a respected forum member on a car audio forum I was asked to promote and hype the most profitable products in the forums for the company and in return I recieved a nice discount on any of the products the company sold.

After figuring out all this I simply stick to what I know is good that is out there and not what people say is good....the best advice anyone can give you is always demo the products that interest you first before you lay down the money....if it's a product you have no way of demoing localy it probably is not all that great anyway don't believe all the smoke and mirror's BS forum member's blow in front of you about all these great products that are better than JL Audio take it from someone who has used many of these over hyped products and now sticks to just JL Audio. Any positive review for JL isn't likely to receive much love, here, lol.

That being said, the company and the W6 don't need nuthugging: their quality speaks loudly enough.

But I put no more stock in this reviewer's opinion of JL than I do in any single review of any company or product....there are plenty of good "smaller internet brands" that comfortably compete with JL's offerings, and for a fraction of the price.

And there's always a current "boner" on every forum; that's just the nature of the beast

its normal, everyone thinks THEY know audio better then anyone else. Went to the local shop looking for a cage for my eclipse CD8455, cage i had didnt want to hold it in. Dude told me to wrap it in duct tape, lmfao said its no biggie alot of people do. I just laughed and walked away, duct tape a $500 unit.... retards

I like how he mentions online brands then really only mentioned SSA directly. I'm assuming he is talking about this very forum as well. The funny thing is, out of all the "on line companies" you would think that after SBN SSA would be the last one called out on being less then what they claim to be.

Sad part....it is true. That is a very common way to make any cage work when you do not have the correct one. Personally I just find another way to mount it, but the tape method has been around for years.

With the new direction ID may be going I won't argue that part. CDT has been over priced like JL for years...however, the only online company named was SSA.

Well I have something to add about JLs "quality"... My DC subs look like someone had a lot more attention to detail then my ZR800s. You would think building stuff with a bunch of old woman in a clean room would look better then these do. NOT impressed

Its all gay shit made by 12 year old Koreans. IMO Sundownzzzzzz and Incriminator are the worst about it, they pretend to be such buddy buddy when they're in business with each other. Makes me wanna puke.
