Found a term lab

I found 1 shop remotally close to me that has a term lab. I'm going to them next week end. Please let me know the ideal tones to run. I get everything form Itunes and they have every Bass Mekanik CD on there. I was thinking a sweep but IDK? I guess I get two runs so how should I set up. Windows up, down, one down? Meter on the dash, kick?

Meter placement depends on how you want to test it. Legal off the dash is the car all sealed up and the meter on the windshield. Usaci would be meter down in the kick area with door(s) window(s) open... As for the tones, that is dependent on your application. The TL will give you an idea after your first burp which way you need to go in hz. That is a part of testing, to see where your peak frequency is.

if thats the case then whats the point of getting it metered? if its loud enough for you who cares what # it puts up.

since you have no clue what frequency your going to peak at. play a 30-80hz (or something similar) sweep. that will tell you where your going to peak then on the second run play the tone that you peaked at on the sweep.

simple as that. and since you just want a number i would say meter it usaci style as that will generally yield the loudest results.

Your peak freq will change depending on where you have the meter too. Mine moved from mids 40s to 57 and I picked up around 10db going from legal sealed to what they called outlaw style (down in the kick with the door open)
