Fosgate vs. Crossfire

Swapped out the Fosgate with the Crossfire amps and I was not dissappointed. Those 2 VR amps are very very solid and very heavy. The sound is pheunomenal. Very very clear. The bass hits the same but I can tell the difference with the mids and highs.

if you can find some os cfa's try those out. they are my favorite of crossfire amps. i do have a vr 401 in my work car on a american bass xd12 and a vr602 in my cady on two os kicker 18s it is bridged to the two 8 ohm 18s. it does seem to run a little warm unlike the older crossfires. they run alot cooler imo. a 30hc or a couple 15hc's are my personal favorites. bamg for the buck i say crossfire though. i have two bnib 15hc's sittin here waiting for me to get something to put them in lol. but i dont know if i care much for the new stuff from either company to be honest. neither impress me. they both used to make awesome amps in the 90s. if you want something new then i would try some of these other companies that seem to the doing well with the guys on here. sundown etc. i would like to get ahold of a nice american bass vfl sometime. i just picked up an os vfl 500 but its not like the new vfl series. but its a nice lil amp.

I could immediately hear the difference when I switched the T1500-1BD with the Crossfire VR 1000D. I have been working with car audio since I was 19 years old when the punch 45 used to run an entire system including 12's and bump hard. The days of Linear Power, Hifonics, PPI and so on. Now I am 38 and after I put the VR 1000D in the truck with the gain up 1/2 -3/4 of the way it didn't even get close to my T1500-1BD. Not a knock on Crossfire but an observation. All the guys who posted earlier in the forum were 100% right to tell me to stick with Fosgate. That's what I'm doing. Sticking with Fosgate. This lesson costs me a few hours of inconvience and a valuable lesson.

This is a really good forum.

If the VR series from Crossfire is anything like what I heard yesterday in my truck, then it is a big dissappointment. The amp had to be turned up 3/4 of the way and the bass control knob had to be turned up all the way to get decent bass. It was a huge dissappointment. The VR 404 was excellent on the mids and highs. That amp was new. I got a deal on EBAY.
