Fosgate says 1.0 cube for ported - can I deviate?

I have read many posts and cannot find the answer.

I have 4 10" Punch XLC's (I know old school) that I want to put in a slot ported box. I have designed the box with reaudio and tuned accordingly.

So many posts on here say to go with more space than recommended by the manufacturer. By rights the box should be 4 cubes (after displacement), but is that enough space.

I listen to heavy metal and want the thump in my chest. I was going to tune the box for 36 or 37.

Thanks

Cmon guys, somebody has to know an easy answer. I know I am a noob on this forum, but have been into car stereos for 17 years (since I started driving) and have had a system in every vehicle I have owned.

I just need a ballpark on how many cubes to make the box. Rockford says 1 cube per 10", but that seems small.
