I'm running my R's off a 2500D and I like it thus far. Need to build a bigger box though. I have never used the RF subs, so cannot really compare the two. All I can say is I had R's in the past, and came back around to them. Great subs for the price, and like stated going to be easier to find if something does go wrong with one.

I've used both, 12 inch type rs and 10 inch hx2 and currently have 2 12" hx2 sitting in my closet. The r's are alright, but were very inconsistent, the hx2 pounded for 3 years never sounding any different day one (bought it used). I like the hx2's quite a bit more than the type r's.

Strange, I was only given my type R's 500 rms and blew a voice coil on the one. Still works, but sounds like poo! I think people suggesting more powers to the R's is way overhyped!

you must of done something terribly wrong. I have two Rs on a XX-Hercules @ .5 without any problems.......

and i'm sure there are tons of people on this board running similar setups such as 2500D, collosus, bxi2006, bxi1606, etc. on a few typeRs.....

Why's everyone saying an R needs 1000+ to sound decent. They will work well on low power. I used to give my 15 only 5-600 and it sounded great. I'm not saying it won't take it but I will say it doesn't need it.
