Fosgate Punch Hx2 > Type R???

Strange, I was only given my type R's 500 rms and blew a voice coil on the one. Still works, but sounds like poo! I think people suggesting more powers to the R's is way overhyped!
i dont care if u have 8k posts 500rms to r is sad

I have had both and my current set up is my type rs in a ported box cause i didnt like the fosgates i would rather have the p3s then the hx2 to be honest i used to only use fosgates but the newer alpine rs kill em. i would def keep the type r's if i was u..

I used to have two P3's 12 in a ported box and switched them for two 12' type Rs. The Rs have better sq and more ouput. Needlees to say the P3's never got stinky like the Rs.

Apparently Hooked on Phonics didn't work for either of you. The word is spelled: definitely.

Jackass.

i have a 1400 underrated rms to 2 and they take it without struggle. you got a rare lemon.

I doubt the hx2s would take more power than the R's... if they did, they would be used in competitions where R's wouldn't be.

When the hx2's came out I did use them for comp. A pair of Dual 4's punches with a bd1500.1 on each sub . And a single dual 2 power series . I still have a pair of the punch hx2's, and love them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Interesting post, Im curious who has actually heard both in a similar setup. A 12" Punch will take 1k Daily. Those who are running 1500 to one type R, I honestly find that hard to believe. I had a type R off ~800 watts and would bottom out on some notes. The only dept. I can see the Type R having a edge in is SQ. The HX2's have a different sound than the Type R's, those who have used them will know what Im talking about. The Type R is a great sub for the price, no-one can doubt that, but their are better subs out there. The Type R is a great sub for the price that they can be had for, the HX2 is a classic and one of my favorite all time subs.

i was actually probing a response from an otherwise useless post...

Thats a ignorant statement, when the HX2's were in production they were used all the time in competetion. The Team RF subs are still some of the most sought after subs by Competitors. The only reason the HX2's arent used in Comps presently is because they are out of production. The HX2 will give the Type R a run and will take much more power than the Type R.

Well believe the 1500 watts on the R. because that is what I run.
