Fosgate Punch Hx2 > Type R???

Sup guys. I just need a quick question answered here. I have an oportunity to pick up 2 rfd2212 12" Punch HX2s for a nice price. Right now i am running 2 12" Type Rs. Both are dual 4 ohm... so there both pretty nice for my bx1500D. Also, the box is around 4.3 cubes tuned to 36. Which is the better sub for rap music? I owned a pair of Punch HX2's a while back, and have installed a few Type R's; and I would choose the HX2's over R's any day. The build quality is greater and they seem more efficient than the R's, Type R's really need a good 800-1,000w to reach their potential.

If you already have the R's, the HX2's won't be that much of a difference. Deffinitly not worth it to sell what you have now, as said get more power. Try some different enclosures as well, it's all in the install.

He's got 1500 watts on the R's .... plenty of power to get them sounding how they should IMO. Those HX2's are fvckin serious, I would run those if I were you.

he wanted our opinion, so i gave mine.

id pick the fosgates over the type r's because the rf's would probably more power, and get louder while doing it. that is unless you have a tcab for the r's.

i was actually probing a response from an otherwise useless post...

I doubt the hx2s would take more power than the R's... if they did, they would be used in competitions where R's wouldn't be.

Meh, the Punch HX2's won't have much of an advantage over the R's in output. If they were the Power series, I would deffinitly trade up, but they aren't...

Strange, I was only given my type R's 500 rms and blew a voice coil on the one. Still works, but sounds like poo! I think people suggesting more powers to the R's is way overhyped!

r's were used in comps because they are so cheap. id still take the punch over the type r i have now
