Okay so another one of my idiot friends and I had an argument today. He got into my car and we were listening to my new sub, and he turns the volume up; the lights start dimming. So I tell him to chill out, I am getting a new altenator soon, so easy on the volume. He tells me not to get an alt, that I could get an Optima with new "gel technology" that doesnt need to be recharged for like 6 months. He is telling me he has one in his boat that he hasnt charged in 4 months.... So I explain that a battery must be charged, it can not just create its own electricity. So he argues.. He says get one and put it in my trunk, and it will just run out in 6 months, so I take it somewhere and get it recharged. I then told him that my JBL 600.1 drained my battery completely in less than 6 hours because of a crossed wire. So he says my stock battery under the hood is crap and should be replaced as well...

God these kids piss me off.

I dont understand what you mean there Jack. He is saying that if I buy a yellow top and install it in my trunk, not hooked up to the alt, just putting power to the amp, it will last for 6 months.

I recieved my Atlas 15 today, and he told me that it was weak.(I hadn't hooked it up free-air yet) This was while I was taking it out of the box.. he also said, "since the magnet isn't big, its not a good sub" I about punched him right in the mouth..
