This car is starting to kill my audio addiction.

From what i can tell the smart charge system is not going to allow me to run any kind of decent power. All I wanted was a simple, efficent SQ setup. Active front stage, 300-500 watt sealed 10, MS-8... Is it over? Audio was last on my list anyway after the tune, CAI, and drop.

Why is this?

The worst you have to deal with is the ANC system which if you put some loud speakers in then it will have issues due to the mics placed into the stock system. You can easily disable this tho.

Also in the hybrids they have really bad batteries, but they can be upgraded like any other car.

I bought the car for Sync so I'm not going to lose it. I read something about the PCU cuts off the alt a lot

Then you would lose out on some good sq setups due to ANC.

Also those PCU's were also included in the dodge volt hybrid and many others. There should be a wire in the data plug connected to the alternator which you can place a switch on to cut of the connection to the PCU.

As far as i know it only cuts off when the battery comes near full charge which will not ever happen with a upgraded audio system.

The processor will take care of the SQ. I'll look into it more. I'm kind of hoping I can't do anything with it.
