3.5 plug. what part is ground ?

hi guys,

im making a 3.5 to rca adapter .

i have 3 wires coming out of the 3.5 wire.

there are 3 parts to the plug i take its .. right / left / ground.

what part of the plug is ground ?

nevermind, i found what each ring is on the 3.5 jack.

tip = left ch

ring= right ch

sleeve= ground

thats in order from tip.

Crap,they are cheap....or just had the stuff already...those wires are tiny.

You know you can get blanks at Radio Shack and just solder the rca wires in. Makes a great solid connection.

why spend money when i already have everything i need. i just did not know what parts of the 3.5 was ground.

im going to use it with my tablet so i can fine tune my crossovers amp by amp.

radio shack had this cool little rectangle plastic board with 8 individual rca female plug in it - open back side - i ended up running 4 piece of wire with the insulator stripped from the back side - and soder to each + and - of the rca to make a daisy chain of 2 pairs of 4 rca all linked together.

i plan to use 1 pair as input from my line driver - and have 3 output to run to my amps... way cleaner than using rca y adapter cables like ive done in the past...
