Well, the time has come to start putting together some ideals for this system. I welcome any imput you all may have. Keep in mind, this truck is not a extended cab. It's about half of that. No gear has been bought yet, and no ideal is yet in stone. Me and my brother will be installing the whole kitten kabootal, so no money for install. YEA! So here is the list I am kicking around:

Head unit: Kenwood Excelon X-589

Pioneer Premier P-6800

Front Stage: Polk Momo's MMC-525

Polk Audio dbd5250 comps

Sub amp: Alpine MRP-450

Sub: JL Audio 8W3

Image Dynamics ID8V.3

Polk MOMO MM2084

Speaker amp: My old directed 600 watt 2ch only a couple of years old.

Rear Fill: Pioneer Revs 6x9

Maybe no rear fill at all?

Any imput will be apreciated. Thanks!

Since the system is going into a truck, I don't recommend doing rear fill unless they are the same speakers as the front. Such a small cabin would invite cancellation.

yah i wouldn't do any rear speakers either. But btw i have those pioneer revs. They sound great but don't really get as loud as peolpe told me, even off of an amp. But they sound great none the less.

To answer your question about the sub, I think 1 GOOD 8' properly amped should be all I need. Just haven't decided which one yet. I am a rear fill guy, but for this paticular application I'm not sure if I want to go that route. I am actually leaning against it for now.

I think you could squeeze some 6.5s in there, with a tab bit of cutting, and a little MDF constructing. I'm hoping to do this sometime in the near future.

Also, rear fill on Rangers is horrible, trust me. The speakers are so close to your ear, that you have to basically turn the rear speakers off. Speaking from personal experience //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd take that Pioneer over the Kenwood, but that's only because I'm a Pioneer fan lol.
