one of my friends has a 94 ranger, and he has 2 12w3 downfiring in about a 3 cube box has the sitting about 5 inches off the floorboard, and im not a big jl fan but it sounds unbelievable and still has great sq, picks up all the double bass off of underoath, haste the day, etc. yet it still loud enough to get that anoying itchy throat

but yeah i had a set up(cheap) goin up

and now im doin one facing the seats .. i have i set up so the the seats will never touch teh subs and the seat can recline the whole way and the pasengar can slide all the way back

i have subs and port facing up with the port on the passenger side. (edit: i removed my jump seats and built a false floor) 2 12in sx's and an autotek mm3000.1, there is a pic in my profile. 147 in the kick TL. my box is tuned to 32hz and as it is now, i gain over 4dbs with the drivers door open which sucks for db drag and bass race since you have to be sealed up. i bass raced a 139 flat with track 1 thug motivation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

if i was you, i'd make swappable ports so you can find your trucks resonant frequency...

no personal experience, but most rangers i've seen with competitive setups(150+), have all been subs up, and ports either up or firing to the side.
