started the re-cone today...
courtesy of team psi. 15in MT, 8 layer flatwound dual 1.4 vc, dual woven tinsel leads and i don't know how many spiders there are but a 25lb weight didn't even budge it...
i picked up a can of dupli color paint before i started gluing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif i also had to buy all new screws to attach the basket to the motor. 70 cents a piece for odd ball metric stainless steel screws. they didn't have any zinc coated ones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif
it was my first time trying the direct splice on tinsel leads. i think it came out pretty good. i used a torch to solder them together and i think i could have gotten a little more coverage with a gun but take my word for it; these aren't going anywhere...
i like the way the basket came out. just two quick coats with minimal prep made it shine...
i wanted to do something a little different and unique with the dustcap. i like the way it turned out..
skadude is building my enclosure this time around cus i really don't have the space to anymore now that i live in an apartment complex. plus he does great work and is a real cool guy.
what do ya'll think so far?
