Ford Ranger box Build

****! gona b load as hell! hey quick question 4 yah. u c that brown plastic above the box... shit rattles like a bish! i totally 4 got to throw sound deadener on that part! what else can i use besides deadener to keep that thing quit?
i hadn't planned on doing any sound deadener in mine, but i think i'm gonna have to. I'm not sure what you should do, because thats connected to the whole back panel...

If your talking about the piece that the block of wood is screwed to, then what I had to do was put 4 lag bolts through the back of the box, through the 2x8, and through the first part of the back of the cab, without going all the way through. Of course, I walled off this truck, so you can't see the piece anyway, but at least that piece don't rattle. Haha. And we put 3 layers of RAAmat on the roof, and it still flexes quite a bit, and that's with only 850 watts going to each sub. I can't wait to see how much it flexes when I put the Memphis 4k in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

And you don't even know how much of a P.I.T.A. that bump is when your making a box that will barely squeeze into the truck. And btw, the extended cab does not open up so that box went through the passenger door.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

NICE SETUP! yeah that is how mine was! had 2 take out my driver seat and angle it in there!

how did you get the baffle to sit a few inches below like that?
it actually only sits 3/4 of an inch below! what i did was build the box upside down. i started by laying down the top then put the side panels on. using these nifty little angle clamps i turned the box over the drilled and screwed the two side panels on then did the front and back piece. once thoze were on the fun part began! i assembled the port pieces outside the box then preceded 2 put em in the box. i measured 1 1/2 inches down made sure everything was square then secured the port. with that done i then set the baffle in! note i cut the holes out first!. so with the baffle in on the right side i measured 3/4 down 2 make shure it sat level. then from the sided screwed that bish in! done deal! hopefully thats wut u wanted haha!

haha sry man got excited! haha wut subs u putn in again? xmax? my subs are just fine! they clear if not u can just go with two inshes that way u have atleast an inch and a half of clearence

no xmax specs on the death penalties....i don't know if i want to do downfiring...i'd like to see my subs beat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

then fire em towards the back of the seat. just take the box and invert it ya know. instead of having the front piece stop run it all the way 2 the floor. u will have about 4 1/2 inches of dead unaccessible space below but w/e. i like having them downfire since peeps cant c em! i wont f em up plus down firing sounds better than foreward 2 me.

dman,

Finally got to posting up the pics of my little ghetto build. Pretty similar downfire design. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

bigbud,

That's a friggin' insane (in a good badass way)!

I havn't seen many other Rangers, but I'm surprised at how similar the interiors stayed in them. Do you guys with newer ones still have jumpseats/storage under the rear 6x8 speakers?
