Ford Focus ZX3

I drive a manual ranger.
And I had to replace the clutch after 105k.

But that was probably more my fault than the trucks.
yea, clutch is a wearing item. it depends on how you drive really. the accepted life of a car is 100k, and a clutch is suppose to last the life of the vehicle, so id say you're pretty good. unless you grandma that shit all day, you will eventually need to replace it. my explorer needs new one as a matter of fact.

iceteebone: im basing it off my old teacher who worked for a ford dealership. he said the only ****** that held up were the diesel's. and even then, they weren't great. of course you will have some that will last, and others that are bound to fail, but im just using second hand info and a teeny bit of my own experience (which was the buddies ****** going out).

It wasnt that expensive IIRC.

I believe the clutch only cost me around 300.

SUPER cheap if you do the work yourself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. i can do my car for about $250+tax. not an expensive replacement at all considering the amount of work it will be doing, and length of time it will last.

I had a focus up until 2 months ago when I totaled it out.....

Had some fun with the car...beating the crap out of it, I got 18-22 mpg. Driving nice, I was getting 26mpg EASY. They fixed the ****** problem in 2002 fyi. I was leary about it also until I talked to a couple mechanics who actually own zx3's. I was doing a 151.1 on the dash legal with the same setup I have in my truck......it was nice, haha

It is slow, real slow....haha. If you are looking to get around quickly, opt for the SVT.

only pic of the hatch i got but it shows most of the space

im going to be doing a wall in mine when i get a new vehicle ... prolly an acura rsx or new maxima ..

it has a nice hatch area to big things in ... pretty large in comparison to cars in its class

oh and I'm totally happy with it.

Great car so far.

I'm not sure i would get one older than an 05, but i like my 06.

iirc 07 is the last year for the hatch.

oh and get a manual, fuk auto.

v.w. ant adpt. and have seen v.w. wore harness in it before..
Some of the older ones used a German made Blaupunkt radio...as did the Cougars...A Focus uses basically the same drivetrain as a Mazda 3 ...The newer models use standard antennas and have a basic ford plug...plus a nice double DIN opening...Mine is a sedan...and the ST model...It has the larger 2.3 liter motor...with a 5speed .....I average about 30mpg rolling on 18's.....
