sounds like a factory amp somewhere. If you go to explorerx.com they might be able to help you further. Not really familiar with the sport tracs..

are you useing a aftermarket wireharness?? rem. turn on not hooked up????

try to see if you can get the spkr's to pop with a 9v batt. if they dont pop at all (all 4) there's more then likley a factory amp that need's to be powerd up.

Does it have a factory sub?

Edit: if it does there is a factory amp in the rear cargo area on the passenger side in the same compartment as the sub.

take a drill batt to the speaker leads, that should tell you a lot..

It really sounds like there has to be an amp somewhere. I would start tearing the truck apart just to make sure there is no amp hiding somewhere. good luck.

there is no "amp plug" perse, could be amped without the sub, you can try the speaker pop method suggested above, I would only use a 9 volt battery though. Take the plus and minus of the speaker leads and put them to the plus and minus of the 9 volt and expect to hear a pop - no pop, then there is an amp - or the speaker is really ****ed.

Grounded out speaker or speaker wire? I've seen a few of those have amps in them, but mainly they have the factory Pioneer system with the Factory sub behind the back seat on the driver side.
