For you PVR/DVR users out: You ever do this?

for all you TIVO (PVR/DVR) home users out there, Do you ever catch yourself doing this while driving?

So you are driving listening to the radio and all of a sudden you missed the advertisement to a wicked party announced on the radio. So instinctively you press the rewind button (as you usually do when you are watching TV with the ability to being able to rewind through your PVR/DVR).

I guess I post this because I am wondering why there is isnt a component out there already that does this? Is it a copyright issue? FCC? or just that no one has come out with such a component?

So since you have one for your music, (assumming you listen to the radio) do you ever find yourself finding a need or luxury of being able to rewind what comes out the radio?

example: New released song comes out or perhaps you are listening to the news on the radio and you get a phone call.... you lower the music take the call then perhaps want to hear what you missed.

Think if it was not the ad but the commentary show you probably are listening to. Topic is hot and all of a sudden, a cop pulls you over. you turn down the music he tries to BS into a ticket violation but you out smart him and prove him wrong. you continue on and rewind back to the point where you left off in the show. you drive away pumping your fist.

but anyways, it was just a thought.

As for Satellite radio:

I was not aware that there were still devices out there that did it since I had heard about XM PCR and the lawsuit they lost, hence the discontinuation of the product (XM PCR).

I can see why they lost that battle, it being a paid service, but I think it would be neat for a component for regular free radio.

The deal with my Sirius player, is that it erases and starts re-recording any time you change the channel. But if you leave it on a channel, it records up to an hour and you can pause, rewind, ff, and once the hour is filled up, it starts erasing the beginning of the hour and adding on the end of the hour, so at most, you have the most recent hour of music played on a channel

Is that standard on all models of Sirrus components?
I dont know

This is the one I have, that records, its called the sportster 4
