ok.. see sig for my setup.

bridge the 300/4 and pump 150W to the fronts and leave the stock rears at 17W rms..

or

get new coaxials (6x9) and throw 75W at each.

which should give me better sound quality? or a better overall experience?

i'm doing basically the same thing as the 1st option you mentioned. I think most would say for SQ do the same. Or even give 0 watts to the rear =0

i'm close to doing that, because for one, I lost a lot of control of the front/rear levels when I bridged, and they're pissing me off.

what I cant figure out, and you probably wont be able to either, is when you bridge the 4 channels into 2, how do you keep stereo signal? I've heard 4 different opinions

1.) you cant

2.) it wont be mono anyways since theres 2 channels (???)

3.) plug the left rcas into the rears on the amp, and the right rca's into the front inputs on the amp.

3 makes sense but then control through the HU gets confusing

90% of people will tell you that will give you a poor soundstage and that front speakers is all you need. since you're for SQ, id agree. but it's your choice

You will plug one channel into the 1/2 inputs and the other channel into the 3/4 inputs. You will only end up using the front pair of HU RCA outs for that amp rather than both front and rear. Run a RCA cable from the HU front outs to the amp location. Use a 1F->2M y-cord on each channel of the RCA and plug the both plugs of each Y-cord into a bridgable channel pair, i.e. the left RCA will have both of its Y-cord plugs plugged into the inputs for channels 1 and 2 of he amp and the right will go to 3 and 4. This ensures a mono signal to the pair to be bridged, but since each pair is getting 1/2 of the stereo signal, you still have left and right stereo separation. If you keep your rear speakers (totally up to you, but I personally don't like rears) and wire them to the rear channels of the HU, you should still have fader control and can fade them totally out if you want to hear what it sounds like.

I run a similar bridged setup in my car for my midbasses currently.

I would go with option 2. If you get the right 6x9's you can set them to "all pass." I would recommend the JL VR 6x9's because you can set them to receive any frequency without damaging the tweets. Actually the tweets on the VR 6x9's are very weak and will definately not be able to interfere with your front stage. But the woofers on those can be tuned very low and it sounds like i have a sub in the back. If your h/u has time alignment the bass coming off of the 6x9's will blend with what you have up front perfectly.

I have rear speakers and they are amped, but they are getting 1/4 the power of my fronts. This is in a 4-door Explorer. I don't have any issues with staging or SQ, as the rears aren't even noticeable unless you're sitting in the back seat. I do carry passengers often, and I also have 5.1 capability (minus a true center channel) for watching movies and concert DVDs. I'll always have rear speakers.

That said, in your situation, I think you should DEFINITELY power the stock rears with your head unit, and bridge the amp for the fronts. ANd yes, you can get stereo signal just fine. You are bridging two channels into one for left, and two channels into one for right. Helotaxi explained how you should hook it up.

Ditch any thought of running/amping rears.

Go active on the fronts with the 350/4 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ditch the rears all together, and just remember that biamplification is your friend. enjoy your new flexibility //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Get a good frontstage and keep the rears run off the HU for a filler. I would go active if you have a good enough knowledge of how to do it or can figure out how to properly set it up by everyone on here. If you can go with a 3way component up front and simple coax in the rear.

rear fill for SQ is not good. It will muddy everything up especially if he has both fronts/sub amped/set up well

If he cares about what his bck seat passengers hear, fine, but he does not appear to.
