the title says focus. if you was remotly smart you would see that they have several lines and the topline is a respectable 350hp 3450 pound car. should do a quarter mile in the high 12s if its geared for the quarter mile

curb weight is 3450.. not exactly heavy. that torque curve looks to be good too with the 350fpt at 3200. ill bet it pulls hard off the line all the way to redline.

my car has a very close ratio 7 speed. like i said if its geared for it no reason it can't do 12s..

3450 is heavy for a small hatchback and if you think you can really gain a full half a second from gearing in that car on a dragstrip you obviously have 0 experience or knowledge on the subject.

its heavy for a hatch i agree. still 13.4 in a quarter mile in't bad. i doubt those tires can handle the power. my g37 would SMOKE 235/35s and i have less torque.. and yes gearing makes all the difference..

for example people at 5k elevation are running high 13 with my car. here at sea level in the winter they are running mids 13s.. with the 5 speed vs the 7 speed they shaved a few tenths off.. the gear ratio is optimized to say in the power band and makes a difference.
