I wasn't trying to load Media Creator or SimCity on, n00b. Half the "problems" w/ Vista are that people are trying to load software/hardware that wasn't designed for Vista, which obviously isn't going to work every time (one of your arguments to why it sucks, IYO) and yet, when I point out that XP didn't support older hardware/software when it came out, it's user fault because the user should know ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

And how is Linux different ? It's a freaking operating system ... You expect Vista to work w/ everything, but it's not fair to expect Linux to work w/ everything ? Please ...

Secondly did you use both OSs when they were beta?

also I have never seen a professional expret type person use the "n00b"

I also stated that when xp was whistler it worked with a azz load of the older software / hardware (read the thread before you post and you can avoid looking like a jack azz)

and my favrote..oh god I love this one..."and how is linux diffrent" he says...wow you droped the a-bomb of dumb *** right there, where do I start..I dont even know, and it is unfair to expect all the WINDOWS apps to work on LINUX... following that train of thought I guess one should be able to pour diesel in a gas engine; there both engines right!

Vista works w/ an assload of older software, too ... It also doesn't work w/ an assload of older software, much like XP didn't ...

Shouldn't the people who code the various distro of Linux be able to adapt their OS to work w/ all software/hardware on the planet ? That's what you expect out of Vista, so why isn't it fair to apply that same expectation to all OSes ? I personally don't expect things that weren't designed for an OS to work, but if they do, great. That's why I don't hold it against Linux when something doesn't work, I just try a different distro and hope that one works.

As for you, enjoy your vacation for violating the ToS and come back w/ a little more respect.

when I got my new computer it was pre loaded with Vista and for the

first 3 weeks or so I wanted to take an AXE to the friggin thing...

I cleaned the hard drive up deleted almost 1/2 the crap that came

with the pre load and added another gig of ram

it actually works quite well now...I am still finding kinks in it but all

and all it's doing it's thing...

there will be future updates to fix all the flaw's...when I first got XP

it was the same way....

oh well I already got everything back up and running. So I don't care anymore. I'm on XP and I'm not gonna change it for awhile, until at least they come out with a SP1 Final.

I'm in the same boat as you man. I get calls all the time to help people with stupid sh1t they do to their computers. It's ridiculous on how bad some people are with computers. Even the teenagers. They just don't know what they're doing.

Linux is alright...but personally I like Windows over it. If you can't fix it don't get it.

I am not happy about it because we didn't get the biggest feature we were promised in the beginning, WINFS.

so no, he doesn't like it.

I know that, but you may need to read up on sarcasm.

The only real reason it isn't amazing is because people haven't gotten fully on board with it (mfgs, developers, etc). That and the fact that we didn't get the new file system we were promised. It isn't all MS fault though. Most stability problems still stem from people being idiots, just like any OS.

I only use it for my HTPC which I built specifically for it. Vista has the best implementation of media center to date.
