For all of you NOSers

well....what v8 car do you know that is cheaper than a 4 cylinder????
Exactly... as i said before. . . you can buy your Mustang 5.0. For 3-3500 (i dont know how good of condition your going to get it in for that much?). . . .but you can get a 1990 CRX for 1,000,

599.00 for a JDM ZC CRX TYPE SIR motor,

Either Super or turbo charge it

. . . and it will run a stock 5.0 expecially when you consider the weight difference, and its all withing reach of 3 -3,500 if you can install the shyt yourself. So i dont see what your point is???? and i dont see what you mean by comparing the prictag on the total amount spent, the truth is you can spend the same if not less on (most) imports and it can be as fast if not faster. . .. among the fact it will look better, be more customizable and FuKK paying 5.00 a day in gas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I guess I was thinking about used cars--- as far as gas money goes---- both motors use the same amount of gas for a HP level ----though i'm not sure of the weight of a 4 banger car. They might not need the same amount of HP to do the same 1/4 times. yea insurance sucks

I was just using that car as that is what I drive and whats it worth. I spent $450 in parts 100 someting on a rear 3.73ratio. a the rest on a 150 shot of wet nitrous. With that I never had ANY import with nitrous or cars with turbo come near me. Through they keep up OR are little faster without me runing nitrous. It's hands down when I touch that button. the wheels chirp and i'm gone

that expained my point you spend money to CATCH UP. If I found a $1,000 5.0 bock and put $1000-2000 in it --- I'd be keeping up with bikes. you'd be keeping up with stock cars

ok you may say your crx smoke's anything you've raced with your nos, but i know many many cars that almost garunteed could spank your car with nos. i know the car i now have as my car as soon as the paper's clear will at least keep up with you if not spank you. 97' pontiac ***** am ws-6 mid to low 12 second car totally stock. yeah i paid about 12,000 for it but, with another 3 grand i can be easily running low 11's if not 10's killing almost anything out there. oh and that is with no NOS or turbos.

I dont have NoS, and i dont really like NoS. I prefer constant power. I have an 88 CRX but im not looking to do anything to it performance wise. I have a 95 Civic i have about 4,500 into it and i have an engine swap planned for it that will run me roughly 1,600. When you break it down, regardless of what you have and how much money it takes you to get it there, neither Imports nor Domestics are faster then one another. My point is that anything you can do to a domestic to acheive speed, you can do to an import to make it just as fast.

yeah that is true. my thing is i love a good import and i love a good domestic. in my opinion there are about 5 imports that are even worth the trouble time and effort to make fast and those are rarely seen. Supra, 300ZX, RX-7, 3000GT Vr-4 only, and the one least likely seen by most people in real life a Skyline. i'm going with totally bone stock not a thing done to any of those they run 13's to 12's those are the only imports i would ever own b/c they are great cars. that is all my personal opinion on it so anyone can butcher it how they see fit but it won't change.

jlman, you said:

Hmm If I paid over a 100,000 grand for a SVT i think that no 4 banger on gods green earth would touch it lol. I dont underestimate them but when a 30,000 dollar car can keep up with a 150,000 dollar car you gotta give the old muscle cars thier props. And those 4bangers are worked more than you could emagine.

but look in Car and Driver magazine, i do not remember what month. but i know that the Lotus Elise, which is powered w/ the old Integra Type-R engine, spanked the crap out of a Mustang Cobra, it was either an SVT, or the R version.

If you turbocharged that engine in the Elise, no mustang could even come close to the strip/road racing capabilities. No matter if it was the New Cobra R w/ the 390 Hp/390 ft. lbs. of torque. the Elise w/ a turbo could take it with ease.

put a $100,000 of tech in a cobra and ask that again. what about the saleen s-7 with about 20-30psi can you top that----

I was about to say something about the S-7, but I knew the ricers would be like, you can't race that on the street...Steve Saleen is the master of motors...I don't give a **** about what anyone else says...

that's what I was tring to say earlier. If money is not object then the bigger motor will ALWAYS have more power. because anything you do to one can be done to the bigger MAKING MORE POWER. it not cost effective to work a 4 banger cause you have to play catch up.

with 100g's into almost any car you would spank the living piss out of almost any car. 100 grand, you can rip every single piece of the car out and make it a drag car. now that isn't street legal but you could make a camero with 100grand a drag car running 7's.
