Flip Out screen project, no sound.

Hey forum, Ill start my first post with a lengthy and stress causing question.

So i currently have a single din aftermarket head unit. no problems, works great, never had an issue. but this saturday is EAF, and ive had a project in my mind for ages, and now have funding to do it. Ill post pics later, but basically, i cut a section of my dash out (only made for a single din) to fit a flip out screen. wiring it all up, everything works great! except that i get no audio. and its not just this unit, ive tried others. abything flip out wont make sound, and im getting kinda sad about it. so what do i do? why doesnt it work? what am i doing wrong, what do i not know about flip out units that im doing wrong? its not putting sound out of the rear rca outs or anything, and ive heard the thing work, so why do i have an issue? stock amp isnt hooked up, so no issues with that.. oh, the car is a volvo 240. thanks in advance, and if ive left anything out, tell me.

make sure amp turn on wire is connected.

im not using the amp to power speakers, so what does that help?

if you disconnect speaker wire connection adn you get no sound out of the rca's you might have a bad deck. but grab a dmm and resistance check the speaker wires to ground deck might be going into protection. if no ground showing on speaker wires check the ohm of the speakers one of those might be blown.

turns out the harness came from a different model stereo, and thats why it wouldnt work. took it back, picked up a brand new one, and boom, sound. couldnt be happier. thanks bud. ill post a pic of my new setup in a little bit

I'm familiar with Warrenton.. have a friend who lives up there. 2nd to methford as far as drugs go if I remember right. Haha. I'm from the Salem area, running what's in my sig (in mazda truck) and just finished glassing my box for my 03 sonata, double din pioneer unit, alpine mrx m240, jl 12w3's, and some hertz components.

If you ever hear about shows in portland or something pm me, we're pretty slow around here as far as shows go.

there a bass comp and lowrider show going on in chehais this weekend. lincoln city has one too on 8/25

I'm willing to bet you'll want to go back the JVC real quick. Look into fiberglassing a double din cutout and relocating buttons and fit a pioneer in their, or similar.
