1. Cooler

2. Ice

3. Case of beer

4. Boat

5. Dynamite

Take all ingredients on water get beer out of cooler, drink, light dynamite, throw dynamite in water, wait for it to blow up, collect fish,. Continue with previous sentence until beer is gone, dynamite is gone, or you get arrested.

i am sad the PhD program isn't going to work out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
What happened? Just not willing to make the sacrifice?

I did a discounted cash flow analysis. It won't pay off for 10 years. However 6 years in my current field, I will have enough experience to complete for great positions in my field. It's a hard decision. I am still very committed to the MBA, I just won't be competitive for that until maybe next year.

I still may be Dr. Flip, just not as soon as I hoped.

First fishing ain't cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif It's more addictive than car audio is , and especially in the area you live in . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Care to elaborate. I seen some poles at Wal-Mart, but I am assuming fisg gear at wal-mart is about the same to fisherman as buying subs at walmart is to me.

Where is a good place? I live in Middle TN, near (enough) to Percy Priest Lake and iI can fish at the dam on the base any time I want.

It's more to kill time and something easy/relaxing. If the goal was to acquire fish, I would buy them at a store.

I still lol'd at the comment.

I see. I predict success.

You can get decent fishing equipment at walmart . Granted there is better and more expensive offerings out there. But you can find something decent at wally world to start off with. Also gonna need hooks, sinkers, and bait at a minimum. But I say it's expensive in the same way car audio is. You get a taste for it , then get hooked //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif You have pretty decent cat fishing in your area , this time of the year it's mainly at night . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

as ramos said, walmart has some decent stuff, depending on what your fishing budget is you can spend anywhere from 20 bux up to several hundred to get started. a while back i think i spent about 400 buying me a new rod, kept my old reel, but bought new line, also bought the woman a cheap zebco 404 combo kit that came w/ the rod, reel, and some cheap lures and jigs, and my boy a spongebob fishing pole. and a new tackle box and filled it full w/ spinnerbaits, rooster tails, jigs, crank baits, plastic worms, hooks, sinkers, bobbers and a variety of other items.

i love going to bass pro shop(its nice having one here in tulsa), i could and have spent hours in there looking at stuff.

Any good brands I should look for.

Budget is around $100. Unless I need more.

Don't want to spend more than $250 to start off.

(Reason for two budgets is that I have very little idea how much this stuff costs, plus hidden costs [like the cost of wire in car audio]

Got a dicks sporting goods locally ? Look for okuma . IF it's gonna be wally world . I suggest buying seperate , stay away from the combos as most they offer are junk. Should be able to get a decent shimano spinning setup for around $100 at wallyworld . Abu garcia are pretty decent reels as well, that are also sold at wally world //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

shakespeare ugly sticks ftw.

you can feel EVERTYHING with those rods. if your just getting into it , id suggest getting a rod/reel combo. i picked up my ugly stick combo at sports authority for ~35 iirc. but some combos can run you upwards of 150+ at a bass pro shops where they have high end shit.

also , where you fish , make sure the water is not dirty. so if you eat a fish you wont catch some nasty parasites.

make sure you know whats legal to catch and whats not.

what you can eat and what you cant.

but shit its a fun hobby. my girl hates it but every chance i get im out by the water fishing. i was going to go today but its so shitty out.

We have both Dick's and Bass Pro Shop.

Take a trip into bass pro shops . Look at some of the higher end daiwa and shimano reels . Check out the stella spinning reels . You will see exactly what I meen by fishing isn't cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
